My name is Ashok Sharma. Basically I am from Ballia U.P. but settled in Bareilly, U.P. I was born and brought up in a Hindu family on 9th my family is religious in their lives. My entire family is very orthodox in their belief. I was much influence by my grandfather. I used to worship gods and goddesses in the temple. It was my daily life style. All these religious activities were just to satisfy my spiritual quest but in reality it wasn’t so. I was empty in my heart all my “puja” was just for the sake of religion. I was searching some real truth. It was in the year 1971, when my father became a believer in the city of Kolkata (at that time he was working in Usha Company). When my grandfather heard about this matter he was very angry. He told my mother that your husband has become a Christian; he will not be allowed to come to home. If any way you welcome him you have the leave this home and stay separately. My mother couldn’t bear all this, and then she went to Kolkata with all of my brothers to find out the truth. As we went there my father told my mother yes I am a Christian believer. He was changed man. He explained the way of Salvation to my mother and she did not find any fault in my father’s life, even he was more loving and gracious. My mother came back from Kolkata and began to stay separately from grandfather. My father used to come every year to my village to see us and he used to stay full summer during May and June. It came great loss in my family when my mother expired in 1976, when my mother gave birth to my younger brother and just after an hour she died due some complication during delivery. The sorrow and pain of her death had broken us. |
